Christmas Charades
This is a classic game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. To play, divide into teams and decide on a list of holiday-themed items, places, or events. One person from each team will then draw a slip of paper with one of the items, places, or events written on it without letting anyone else see. The goal is for this person to act out the word on the slip of paper for their team to guess. The first team to guess correctly gets a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins!
Christmas Charades is the perfect Christmas game if your Christmas party guests include children. Kids will love this friendly Christmas party game. As said early, the object of the game is for one team to guess the Christmas carol or activity that the other team is acting out. Teams can be pre-selected or chosen randomly. To start the game, each team decides on one person to be their charades player. The player acting out the charades must not speak. When everyone is ready, the person acting out the charades begins by holding up as many fingers as there are syllables in the word or phrase they are charading.
For example, if they are charading “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” they would hold up twelve fingers. The team then has one minute to guess what Christmas carol or activity their teammate is performing. If they guess correctly, they earn a point. The first team to reach ten points wins the game! For this game, you will need 2 small plastic buckets and 20 jingle bells. Decorate the buckets however you like – some festive holiday wrapping paper and a bow would be perfect! Place 10 jingle bells into each bucket. To play, line up the players behind a line (you can use masking tape on the floor). Each player takes turns tossing 3 jingle bells into their bucket. The player who gets all 3 bells in their bucket first wins the game! If you want to make it more challenging, move the line back further from the buckets.
Christmas Word Scramble
This is a fun game that tests your guests’ knowledge of Christmas terms! To play, create a list of 10-15 scrambled Christmas words (or use ours below). Give each player a piece of paper and a pen/pencil. Then have each player try to unscramble as many words as they can in five minutes – the one who gets the most correct wins!
